Is your product manager a good product manager or a bad product manager? This checklist is here to help CEOs and executive evaluate that very question. Here’s how I recommend you evaluate. For every check mark in the list under “Good Product Manager” section, count one point. For every check mark in the list under “Bad Product Manager” section, subtract one point. If your product manager scores seven points or higher, you have a good product manager. If you have a product manager that scores less than six points, then you have a competent manager that has areas of improvement to address. If your product manager scores negative points, then you may want to evaluate whether you need to invest in professional development for your manager, or make a personnel change.
